Given this context, faculty in the Department of Physical Therapy in the School of Health Sciences at Winston-Salem State University invite applications for a 12-month, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Physical Therapy beginning July 1, 2023. This person will teach anatomy and other basic sciences in the Department of Physical Therapy. We seek an exceptional candidate to teach graduate courses, serve as a faculty advisor, mentor students, produce scholarly research that results in publications in peer-reviewed journals within the discipline, present at professional conferences, engage in procuring extramural funds with interdisciplinary teams, participate in departmental, school, and university service as well as engage in service to the professional discipline and the larger Winston-Salem and Forsyth County community. |

Department Required Skills | We seek candidates who demonstrate excellence in teaching anatomy and other basic sciences in physical therapy or other health professions, such as pathophysiology or pharmacology, and who have an interest in working collaboratively to enhance the strengths of our entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy curriculum and transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education | Faculty in the Department of Physical Therapy prefer candidates who have at least two years of experience teaching basic science in a healthcare education program in-person or online and who demonstrate a commitment to diversity, social justice, innovation, and collaboration with university colleagues. A degree in physical therapy and a terminal academic degree is preferred. |
