Provide furniture movement, recycling removal and event services to the College's community. Receive, store, and distribute materials, supplies and equipment to the campus as required.

The anticipated hiring or recruitment range for this position is $19/hr – $20/hr
Physical Demands
Ability's to move heavy furniture, packages, and operate bulky heavy equipment.
Ability to lift 50-80 lbs.

Job Summary/Basic Function:
PRIMARYPURPOSE:
Provide furniture movement, recycling removal and event services to the College's community. Receive, store, and distribute materials, supplies and equipment to the campus as required.
ESSENTIALJOBFUNCTIONS:
- Event services; perform set-ups and break-downs for all College functions as required. Store and deliver necessary equipment and materials for all College functions.
- Furniture and materials movement; move furniture as required, and assist departments in materials movement and office relocations.
- Delivery services; deliver and distribute cleaning supplies, materials and equipment to designated buildings for custodial use.
- Recycling pickup and disposal; monitor and empty all large recycling containers and bins as required.
- Exercise sound judgment when using equipment and chemicals. Must follow and use approved safety standards and precautions.
- Respond to all requests and complaints in a professional, courteous, and timely manner with the goal of providing exceptional customer service.
- Perform a daily mail run/as required to the Norton Post Office, in support of campus mail room operations.
- Serve as a receiver of goods in the absence of Material's Management supervisor. Store and/or distribute materials received at loading dock to appropriate recipients.
- Whenever possible, support Carpentry and/or other Physical Plant work centers, documenting time given in other areas via a monthly report.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work overtime whenever required in support of campus functions.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
- Assist other departments as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education/ Experience; a high school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Licenses; a valid MA driver's license and a safe driving record.
- Other preferences; previous experience in building services or transportation field preferred.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload with minimal supervision to meet required deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, resolve problems, and function as a member of a team.
- Ability to lift and move heavy furniture, packages, and operate bulky, heavy equipment.
- Ability to lift 50-80 lbs.
- Follow all manufacturer guidelines in the use and storage of cleaning chemicals and follow all applicable safety procedures. Utilize the assistance of the Director, Environmental Health and Safety, whenever required.
