Position Description of General Responsibilities:

Perform behavioral work with rodents and study reward and dependence by using in vivo models. Compile results and report to supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

Required Previous lab experience in a research lab setting (as student volunteer or employee) and work experience with rodents and lab animals in particular behavioral and reward techniques. General lab skills (weighing, making solutions, etc.).

Prior experience in administering drugs to rodent lab animals is required.

Required: undergraduate or a B.S. in Chemistry or Biology or equivalent.

Preferred experience with models of dependence. Willingness to learn biochemical and molecular biology techniques such as PCR and western blot. Good communication skills.

Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a hourly employee at VCU.
