Administrative Assistant
University Housing is looking for an Administrative Assistant to join our Dining & Culinary Services team!
As an Administrative Assistant in Dining & Culinary Services, you will help support the administrative operations of the Four Lakes Market dining unit in Dejope Residence Hall.
On a typical day, you'll provide excellent customer service and administrative support to staff, residents, and guests. You'll be in charge of general office management responsibilities like answering departmental emails and phones, assisting in-person visitors, coordinating meetings and schedules, and helping direct and support the work of student staff within the Dining office.

Responsibilities:
Provides administrative support for a department, group of professionals, or to the manager of a work group consisting of professional staff and subordinate supervisors in support of unit goals, under general supervision
- 10% Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, conferences, travel, and work unit operations
- 20% Serves as a first point of contact for individuals and groups, provides basic organizational information via phone, in person and through other communication mediums, and routes more complex inquiries to the appropriate entities
- 25% Collects, analyzes, and prepares various communication materials from established sources utilizing technology mediums
- 25% Sends, receives, copies, and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures under general supervision
- 20% Maintains established methods and organizational systems directed at the maintenance of electronic/physical records related to work operations according to established policies and procedures
Tasks:
- Assists and guides student workers.
- Demonstrates and role models exceptional customer service.
- Ensures accurate point of sale system screen layout and menu boards, based on the daily menu.
- Maintains supplies and office equipment for dining unit.
- Oversees care package and seasonal treat package programs, and party orders.
- Performs duties in a high-volume, dynamic, student residential dining environment.
- Produces and issues food line signs based on daily menu.
- Provides administrative program support to Dining unit staff.
- Provides support and assists as needed in the implementation of plans and procedures in the event of an emergency.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Experience and proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite in a workplace setting (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Customer service/hospitality experience
- Experience working with collaborative online platforms (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Box, etc.)
- Experience working with point of sale (POS) systems
Work Schedule:
Primary schedule for this position is 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
Schedule will be determined upon hire. Schedule alterations as operations and position expectations demand.

Full Time: 100%
It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
Salary:
Minimum $19.00 HOURLY
Depending on Qualifications
The starting hourly wage is $19.00 or higher based on qualifications. This is a full-time appointment which includes generous paid time off and a competitive retirement and benefits package.
