Job Summary

*WORK-STUDY & NON-Work Study students should apply.

The Student Research Assistant will work on a pilot randomized controlled study among patients with heart failure in their homes after hospital discharge. Study participants will be asked about their symptoms and will use the automated symptom monitoring and management system. The Student Research Assistant will assist with participant recruitment in the hospital, education about the system, phone-calls for following up, data collection, data management, and literature review.

Responsibilities

-Interact with and recruit participants at the hospital, obtain signed consent forms, provide education about the system, upload and manage data using predetermined software
-Conduct phone-calls for following up.
-Communicate effectively and professionally with patients.
-Other duties as assigned.
Will need to certify in Good Clinical Practice, CITI program and HIPAA compliance (training to be done on the job, but before beginning in-person work).

Minimum Qualifications

This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. We protect our patients, coworkers and community by requiring all patient-sensitive employees to be immunized according to CDC standards and hospital policy. Limited exemptions may be made for documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs that object to vaccinations.

Preferences

It would be great (but not required) if you had some experience with statistics software, or experience with research.
