Job Description
The main purpose of this position is managing the Northern soybean breeding program and related activities. The position will coordinate the yield trials across locations in Missouri and collaborate with other Research groups in conducting relevant research in the soybean breeding field.
The duties and responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
- Management and coordination of soybean breeding activities such as seed preparation, planting, data collection, harvesting.
- Help research assistants in soybean research activities.
- Compile and analyze data, write scientific reports and peer-reviewed papers for publication.
- Present data and findings in the relevant meetings.
- Collaborate with other PIs in the soybean research community to develop projects related to soybean breeding and genetics.
Minimum qualifications
PhD in plant breeding and genetics by the time of appointment.
Candidates will be evaluated on
Experience in a plant breeding program, as well as experience with Agrobase and Genovix breeding management software, marker assisted selection, conducting field research, planting, data collection, harvesting, and data analysis.
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
