Job Description

This position is located at the Fisher Delta Research, Extension and Education Center in Portageville, MO.

Responsibilities:We are seeking a highly motivated individual to lead our soybean genomic and phenomic data analysis and research, including genomic selection, genomic prediction for cross combinations, genome wide association studies (GWAS), high throughput phenotyping data (e.g. image data collected by drone) analysis and prediction models.The successful candidate will also play important roles in participating our breeding pipeline, developing new proposal, preparing reports, and mentoring students.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification:Ph.D. degree in plant science, bioinfomatics, or related fields by the time of appointment.

Candidates will be evaluated on:Experience and interest in soybean genomics, phenomics, genetics and breeding. Dedication and commitment to excellence in lab and field working environments. Ability to maintain a good working relationship with other research fellows in a large research group. Excellent communication skills for collaborative research, ability to work independently and cooperatively, advising students on the research team, and writing skills for grant and manuscript writing.
