Job Summary
Position obtains authorizations for services rendered at UKHC for multiple clinical areas. This position would also provide supervision and act as a resource for other staff performing pre authorizations in the department. The position would manage the iAuthUK worklist, assure the authorizations for each clinical area is obtained prior to the scheduled test and communicate with the clinic personnel to assure the correct order is obtained prior to the authorization request. The position is an additional resource for coverage, time keeping, and absence management and also provide ongoing education to the authorization staff.
Multiple positions available.
This position has been identified as supporting UK HealthCare, which receives funding from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Therefore, all individuals hired into this position must comply with the federal CMS mandate issued in March of 2022. This mandate requires all new hires to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or obtain an approved medical or religious exemption as a condition of employment. Start of employment cannot occur until two weeks after receiving the full COVID-19 vaccination series or upon obtaining an approved exemption. Only vaccines approved by the World Health Organization can be accepted.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
The ideal candidate will possess experience with obtaining insurance pre-certification and pre-authorization, the ability to multitask effectively, provide exceptional customer service, strong communication and organizational skills.

Bachelor's degree and insurance pre-certification and pre-authorization experience preferred.
