Shift

Schedule dependent upon student schedule and office need. Estimated period of employment Friday, April 26 – August 23, 2024. Estimated average 9 hours/week, roughly ~150 hours total

Job Summary

The UK Education Abroad & Exchanges Office is looking for motivated students to assist with summer office needs, such as tabling at on-campus events and Summer Orientations. Education Abroad Program Assistants (EAPAs) may be assigned a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
  • Participation in student outreach events on-campus, such as tabling or presentation
  • Leading First Steps informational sessions.
  • Peer-advising students and answering questions on the basics of study abroad.
  • Assisting with projects around the office as needed.
This position is open to students from all academic backgrounds who have previously studied abroad. This opportunity allows for selected EAPAs to provide information and guidance about the Education Abroad process, as well as by sharing their personal experiences with their peers and others within the UK community, including future Wildcats and their families. Candidates should have a positive attitude, successful academic performance, effective leadership and communication skills, and enthusiasm for international education.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Successful candidates must have a positive attitude and willingness to work with students, the initiative to start and complete projects, and strong written and verbal communication skills. Candidates must also be confident in both public speaking and interpersonal communication, and have working knowledge of Microsoft programs like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
