POSITION: A full-time (100%) university staff position is available in Services for Students with Disabilities and TRIO Project AIM beginning in May 2024. The official title of this position is Administrative Assistant II. This position is contingent on grant funding and requires a six-month probationary period. The expected hourly hiring salary for this position is $17.50. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience providing administrative support in an office setting
  • Demonstrated computer experience with proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database software
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills, with ability to maintain a welcoming and supportive student services environment
  • Knowledge of university policies and procedures regarding purchasing, payroll, travel arrangements, financial transactions, etc.
  • Experience using software management programs (Student Access and Accessible
  • Information Systems AIM), or willingness and ability to learn
  • Experience working with students with disabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
DUTIES:

Provide general administrative support for the Services for Students with Disabilities and TRIO Project AIM office.

Respond by phone, email, or in person to questions from faculty, staff, students, parents, and the public regarding disability services and the federal grant.

Meet with prospective students requesting disability services and explain the registration process.

Provide budgetary support by preparing purchase orders, requisitions, and transfers of funds.

Schedule staff appointments and maintain calendars.

Update informational materials and place printing services orders.

Make arrangements for program activities and events, such as reserving rooms and ordering refreshments.

Perform data entry functions using Student Access and maintain student files.

Hire, train and supervise student employees to assist with office functions; assign and monitor work tasks for student employees.

Perform other duties, as assigned, to contribute to unit, university, and community activities.
