JOB SUMMARY:
Provide clinical supervision to student clinicians while ensuring high quality services to clients at the St. John's Speech and Hearing Center; conduct periodic speech-language screenings/assessments in clinic or in the community, as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Observe student clinicians as they provide service to clients, model interactions and therapy techniques when needed, co-treat when appropriate.
- Regularly meet with student clinicians to provide concrete, instinctive feedback on their clinical performance with an emphasis on developing self-assessment abilities.
- Assist student clinicians in genera1ing goals and objectives for their clients, provide guidance on order or treatment, choice of therapy activities, preparation of materials.
- Model and instruct student regarding ethical conduct during treatment, in counseling sessions with client and or other relevant family members/caregivers.
- Review all clinical reports, SOAP notes, Intervention Plans and provide feedback to students on their clinical writing and how to improve the clarity, accuracy and professionalism of their written work.
- Evaluate students' clinical performance frequently and provide relevant feedback to guide development throughout the Formal midterm and final student evaluations will be completed viaCalipsoand results discussed during individual meetings with students.
- Supervisor should maintain accurate records of student hours and enter onCalipsowhen instructed.
- Conduct/model clinical sessions for students, as needed throughout the semester.
- Conduct speech-language screenings/assessments in clinic or in the community, as Train students in the administration, scoring and interpretation of testing results.
- Assist the Director or Clinical Coordinator with administrative tasks, as needed.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned; g.-presentations to students and staff, generating ideas for new therapy programs.
- Accompany groups of students to schools, day care settings, nursing homes, and assist them as they provide "push-in" therapy services in natural settings. Supervisor will train students in all aspects of intervention and thereby enable students to gain realistic work experiences.

- Master's Degree Required
- At least 3 years of adult treatment experience, with at least 1 year of experience supervising graduate clinicians
- ASHA CCC-SLP and NYS Licensure in SLP,
- DOH provider status
- TSHH/TSSLD
This position may be relocated to any of St. John's University's physical locations at any time.
