Police Officer
Rochester Borough is looking to hire two Full-Time Police Officers. A bonus of $5,000 will be given to the two individuals hired as Full-Time Police Officers after completion of their Field Training. Qualified persons are invited to apply to the Borough of Rochester Civil Service Commission to take a competitive examination leading to the eligibility for appointment as a Full-Time Police Officer for the Rochester Borough Police Department.
General Requirements:
- All Applicants must be citizens of the United States.
- Each Applicant for a position in the Police Department shall have graduated from an accredited high school or have an equivalent education acceptable to the Commission.
- Each Applicant shall be physically, medically and psychologically fit for the performance of the duties of a Police Officer; licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania prior to appointment.
- Also, each Applicant must have completed Act 120 certification as prescribed by the Municipal Police Officers’ Education and Training Commission by July 15th of 2023, and attained their 21st birthday at the time of application.
An application packet may be obtained at the Rochester Borough Police Department located at 350 Adams Street Rochester, Pa 15074 between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm Monday through Friday. There is no application fee.
A complete application must be returned to the Rochester Police Department to be filed with the Civil Service Commission by 4:00pm on Wednesday February 15th, 2023. The written exam is scheduled for Saturday, February 18th, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Rochester Municipal Building, 350 Adams Street, Rochester. The physical agility test will be given immediately following the written exam.
