Director of Human Resources
Reata Glen is seeking an experienced, proven HR leader for a new Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in Rancho Mission Viejo, California. Working with support from shared services, the HR Director partners with the Executive Director, Health Center Administrator and the leadership team establishing strategic direction supporting the community's core values. The Human Resources Director will be responsible for planning and executing the Human Resources initiatives and compliance activities for the Community including:
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
Leadership
- Champion of the STAR Values and related programs across the Community including employee recognition and suggestion programs, talent development, employee communications and events
- Serves as resource for supervisory staff, explaining and interpreting personnel procedures and the implications of applicable laws and regulations, assisting, as needed, in the completion of necessary documentation of personnel matters by supervisory staff relating to employee coaching and development and disciplinary actions.
Administrative/Management:

- Establishing standards and ensuring complete personnel files for all employees in compliance with all legal requirements.
- Manages all recruitment activities for the Community including the sourcing, screening and ongoing communication with candidates through the entire Recruitment Process.
- Ensures confidentiality of employee records, releasing authorized information regarding employment verification, following Community policy regarding all inquiries.
- Responsible for the administration of all employee benefit programs, management of local Wellness Program, reviewing and maintaining employee insurance eligibility and ensures all Benefit vendor invoices are processed timely.
- Management of employee performance review process, ensures completion and quality of reviews.
- Ensures that all job descriptions are complete and ensures the integrity of the Community wage and salary system.
- Reviews and submits all Workmen's Compensation reports. Actively manages each case in collaboration with the Safety and Department Director to maintain required logs, prepare necessary reports, analyze injury logs, and to submit recommendations to supervisors regarding areas of concern.
- As co-chair of Safety Committee: gathers, reviews and disseminates information on employee safety and health, keeping abreast of changes in OSHA requirements and informing the Safety Committee and appropriate staff where applicable. Reviews and maintains on file all employee incident reports. Investigates incidents and provides recommendations to the Safety Committee.
- Processes all Personnel Information Forms to ensure accuracy and compliance with Community policies and procedures.
- Serves as representative for employees and acts in a conciliatory role concerning employee grievances, conferring with and counseling employees regarding personnel policies and procedures, benefits, employee relations, and work related, personal and professional concerns.
- Conducts training seminars and workshops for all Community employees relating to Human Resources topics, as required including New Hire Orientation for all new employees. Coordinates staff development, in-service and out-service training programs, assisting department heads in the development and implementation of short-range and long-range staff development programs, surveying and evaluating these programs to determine adequacy, effectiveness and appropriateness, implementing changes, through cooperation and consultation with department heads, as needed.

This position also has a 15% bonus potential based on achievement of annual goals on top of the base salary of 100 - 120K annually.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a related industry.
- Minimum 5 years supervisory experience required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal labor regulations, personnel administration, employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, recruiting and selection, and training and development.
