Facilities Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State York is seeking a Facilities Supervisor who will oversee the campus's physical plant and its maintenance and custodial workforce. This position will oversee the unionized staff to ensure the proper function and repair of the campus's physical assets.

Duties include:

Daily supervision of maintenance staff employees, including assignment of work, scheduling absences, training, evaluation, and discipline
Management of building systems, grounds and landscaping, custodial services, and projects, coordinating their maintenance and repair through scheduling of staff or with an outside vendor
Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers, vendors, and industry organizations to provide a quality level of customer service and communication
Make recommendations and provide technical expertise to solve problems including facilities issues, employee relations issues, and environmental health and safety concerns
Monitor budgets by providing costs, preparing estimates, and working within established budget or spending limits.
Purchase materials, maintain control, regulate usage of inventory, and perform purchasing reports for approval
Coordination of set-ups for events held on campus

Typical Education & Experience:

4+ years related experience and an Associate's Degree or higher
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
