Business Office Fiscal Technician
General Description:
This position is responsible for the efficient and courteous operation of all student financial related processes. Assist in the collection, receipting, coding, and depositing of all funds; accounts receivables, maintenance of accurate records, ensuring compliance with published policies and generally accepted accounting principles. This is an entry level position.
Duties and Tasks:
- Receiving and posting student payments in SIS
- Resolves complex customer issues related to student accounts on the phone, in person and through correspondence
- Resolves escalated, timely issues in the absence of the Business Office Supervisor
- Receiving and processing other payments through Cashnet System
Essential Functions:
- Campus Student Financial Operations
- Providing Business Services related Customer Service
Required KSAs:
- Knowledge of Cash Handling, Cash Management, principles and procedures
- Ability to communicate and work effectively within a diverse community.
- Ability to effectively communicate student account information and policies/procedures in a manner easily understood by the customer.
- Ability to learn new policies, procedures, and new software applications.
- Understand and apply a basic knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles and practices.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to use good judgement.
- Excellent Customer Service Skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Some experience in Accounts receivable and/or cash handling.
- Some experience in Customer service
- Some experience with computers and computerized cashiering systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of education, training, and experience
- Bookkeeping experience
- Experience in Higher Education Accounting/ Finance
