NUAIR is on a mission to usher in the next generation of UAS and Advanced Air Mobility solutions for the safety societal and economic benefit of New York State and beyond.  We are currently looking to fill a fulltime Part 107 Pilot position with someone who can operationally execute on customer projects while keeping safety at our core.

 

Summary: Responsible for performing various tasks including safe conduct of small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) operation, performing preflight mission planning, checklist procedures, ground operations, flights (including training, proficiency, testing, evaluations, and similar), post flight operations and logistics; additional responsibilities will include assisting with client project development and planning, assisting clients flight operations, supporting company and client flight operations at off-site locations, participating in strategy planning meetings, drafting plans and reports, gathering analytic mission data, and assisting the Chief of Operations with duties as-assigned. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

  1. Applicant must possess an FAA issued Part 107 small category UAS remote pilot’s certificate. Additional aircrew certificates, ratings, endorsements and authorizations will be considered beneficial to the applicant.
  1. The Pilot will act as a member of the project delivery team for consultative projects for NY State agencies and public benefit corporations and other public and commercial clients.  These projects will require data collection and analysis, development of and consultation on process, procedures, and methodologies, among other project delivery tasks and deliverables.
  2. Perform as a consultant on strategic and commercial projects to NY State agencies, public benefit corporations, and other public entity and commercial clients.
  3.  Maintains operational flight proficiency on all required UAS platforms, which includes both manual and automated UAS flight.
  4. Exercise sound aeronautical judgment at all times while operating sUAS platforms or providing supervision of flight operations. 
  5. Determines platform airworthiness, operational location viability, and validly analyzes weather conditions.
  6. Ensures individual pilot proficiency targets are met, such as a minimum of three takeoffs and landings every 90 days, practice emergency procedures, and autonomous versus manual flight patterns.
  7. Maintains working knowledge of company operations policy, company safety processes and incident reporting procedures.
  8. Maintains a high level of situational awareness and knowledge regarding the ongoing evolution within the UAS industry and reports key industry trajectories for company awareness and business development.
  9. Maintains qualification as a Visual Observer.
  10. Provides logistical support to clients at various field locations.
  11. May perform duties as a designated Mission Crew Commander at discretion of Chief of Flight Operations
  12. Performs other duties as assigned

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Adept at consultative analysis, report writing and presentation of findings and recommendations
