National Fuel has an immediate, full-time opening for a Utility Technician in our Operations Department at our Erie Service Center located in Erie, Pennsylvania. Utility Technicians will receive industry leading classroom training as well as opportunities to assist fully qualified Operations employees to gain valuable hands-on natural gas experience. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Utility Technicians will have meter reading responsibilities, however, will have the opportunity to attend operator qualification classes. Upon successful completion of company selected operator qualifications, the employee will rotate between meter reading duties and assisting a fully qualified employee to gain knowledge and hands-on experience in performing collections, installing, servicing and removing gas meters, meter sets and regulators, investigating gas service inquiries, perform line locating, leak repairs and pipeline replacements.
· Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
· Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
· Ability to understand and apply mechanical principles as well as possess proficient skills in the use of hand tools
· Basic literacy is required. Capability to read, accurately interpret and analyze written information, and legibly prepare written documentation.
· Excellent customer service and computer/data entry skills
· Available to work a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm.
· Must live within a 20-mile radius of the Erie Service Center located at 225 Wayne Street, Erie, Pennsylvania or be willing to relocate
· This is a position within the Company’s collective bargaining unit with a starting rate of pay of $20.09/hour
