The Narberth Borough Civil Service Commission announces that a written examination for the position of Police Officer will be held at the Narberth Borough Municipal Building, 100 Conway Avenue, 2nd floor, Narberth, PA 19072 on Tuesday January 10, 2023, at 6:00 PM, for all candidates who meet the requirements. All applicants must report to the testing room by 5:00 PM on the day of the examination.
REQUIREMENTS • US Citizenship • 21 years of age or older at the time of application • Establish permanent residence within a fifteen (15) mile radius of the Narberth Borough Municipal Building within one (1) year following permanent appointment • Holder of a College or University degree (preferably criminal justice or related) • Successfully completed ACT 120 training. (Municipal Police Officers’ Education and Training) • Possess a valid motor vehicle driver's license issued within the United States. • Must be able to meet the essential duties as listed on the police officer job description. • Ability to read, write and understand the English language. • All new hires will be required to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 per the latest CDC definition of “fully vaccinated”. SALARY SCALE The 2023 starting annual salary is $80,300.00. Current Patrol Officers with 4 years of service with the Department will have a base salary of approximately $107,063 in 2023. In addition, there is paid overtime and pay increase for rank and longevity. Other benefits include paid annual leave, paid personal time, paid sick time, family health care, clothing allowance and retirement. The current Police contract expires December 31, 2023.
