Job Description:


The Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences in the Cook-Cole College of Arts & Sciences invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track position (F0297) at the Visiting Assistant Professor level beginning in August 2024.

We seek a broadly-trained individual who can contribute to our major and minor in Integrated Environmental Sciences. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach environmental planning/management and/or an introductory-level environmental law and policy course. Opportunities are available to teach additional courses in the candidate's area of expertise, including within our biology major or minors in Earth Science, Geography, or Geographic Information Science (GIS). The standard teaching load is 12 contact hours per semester.

The successful candidate will be provided with funding to support student-faculty research and travel, as well as opportunities for professional development resources and training.


Requirements:
  • Minimum Requirement: Ph.D. in Environmental Science or related field. ABD considered but must be on track to be awarded degree by August 2024.
  • Candidates with demonstrated college teaching ability and commitment to service preferred.
  • A demonstrated ability and commitment to working with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and constituents in support of the university mission is preferred.

This is a full-time, non-tenure-track instructional faculty position. Salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience. A successful criminal background investigation is required. AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and other national service alumni are encouraged to apply.
