Job Summary
Somerset Community College invites applications for an Operations Manager in Security and Safety to supervise security at all campuses and centers. Working Title: Manager of Security
Job Duties:
- Coordinates emergency preparedness drills (i.e. tornado, earthquake, bomb threats, fire, and workplace violence/intruder, etc.)
- Handle disruptions or disagreements between persons on campus and requests assistance from local police as needed.
- Respond to and assist with campus crisis situations, including but not limited to: fire, bomb threats, weather emergencies, natural disasters, etc.
- Oversee security guard functions in order to provide a safe and secure environment.
- Work cooperatively with IT to coordinate the SNAP emergency notification system and perform regular table top drill sequences and mini mock-up scenarios with the Crisis Management Team (CMT).
- Complete safety reports including Minger Report, Clery Campus Crime Report, and other safety-related reports as needed.
- Assess existing disaster plans and develop an all hazards response and recovery plan to address a wide variety of natural and man-made disasters. Evaluate disaster control methods and procedures; identify risk exposures relative to life safety and implement corrective action plans.
- Track and log daily criminal incidents for each campus site. Updates the Incident Reports website as incidents occur.
- Work with the Safety Team to update safety manuals and the Crisis Management Plan annually, or as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree in a related field from a regionally accredited college or university, and one year of related work experience to include law enforcement, or equivalent.
