Job Summary
This position manages daily Financial Aid operations at the Maysville Campus by providing guidance and assistance to prospective and current students, parents, K-12 partners, and community partners. Additionally, this position processes Financial Aid applications, performs corrections, and awards aid, staying up to date on federal, state, and institutional policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
Job Duties:
1.) Manages daily Financial Aid operations at the Maysville Campus consisting of processing applications, performing corrections, and awarding aid. Stays updated on federal, state, and institutional policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
2.) Counsels' students and parents regarding all types of financial aid. Collects and processes required documentation for students and parents.
3.) Connects with students via multiple communication channels to complete financial aid files.
4.) Meets weekly with Business Office counterpart to review open accounts to reduce bad debt.
5.) Serves as Federal Work Study (FWS) Coordinator for MCTC. Reconciles FWS awards each semester and annually. Keeps staff updated on changes in the FWS program and all requirements. Monitors reports regarding time for all FWS students and alerts supervisors as necessary. Makes all FWS awards for students. Acknowledges time for all FWS students. Coordinates with System Office staff to ensure FWS program is compliant. Manages FWS budget. Actively seeks out community service placement opportunities for FWS students and ensures quotas are met.
6.) Coordinates no-show cancellation process for college. Partners with the Records Department to ensure no-show students are removed from classes. Maintains spreadsheets of no-shows.
7.) Conducts workshops, presentations, and orientations regarding financial aid information to a variety of students and groups. Assists with off-campus registration events and recruiting activities as needed.
8.) Serves as Maysville Campus point of contact for federal, state and local scholarship information. Posts external awards
9.) Serves on committees and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field and minimum of two years of experience or equivalent.
Additional Skills :
High level of customer service skills required. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Constant exchange of documentation and paperwork requires excellent organizational skills. Professional judgment required.
