Medical Malpractice Litigation Associate
Henn Lesperance PLC is offering the most qualified attorney candidate a rare opportunity to join our leading medical malpractice defense team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Specifically, our practice representing the leading healthcare systems and physician groups in West Michigan (and beyond) is growing and therefore in need of a litigation attorney with approximately three to eight years of experience in complex civil litigation, preferably medical malpractice on either the plaintiff or defense side. If selected, you will join our team led by Kevin Lesperance, an experienced trial lawyer who is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (2018) and was recently voted the 2023 most respected advocate by his peers at the Michigan Association for Justice. In this position you will have opportunities to work in all aspects of our litigation defense practice, including legal research, brief writing, motion practice, client/witness meetings, medical expert retention and discussion, depositions, and trial assistance. A successful candidate will have an interest in and desire to learn more about the complexities of the medical care and treatment provided by our clients and the numerous factual and legal issues that arise in these multi-million-dollar claims. This position will include mentoring by more experienced trial attorneys, collaboration with peer attorneys, and support from newer attorneys, paralegals, and staff. You will also directly engage with our health system and insurance clients and will have the opportunity to build and develop your own caseload and practice.

Qualifications:
