Systems Engineer
The Systems Engineer designs, implements and maintains the College's data center services to ensure security, integrity and availability of technical services; and supports the technical computing and communication needs of the campus community to enable optimal efficiency and productivity of all organizational components.
Duties include managing and monitoring identity management system; user and system access to information systems; providing daily maintenance, monitoring and ongoing support of networked systems; evaluating new technologies and determining feasibility of integration into the existing environment; monitoring and optimizing performance and effectiveness of networked systems; developing and maintaining documentation; maintaining knowledge of current technologies and design and recommending acquisitions accordingly; coordinating and supporting internal and external entities to ensure effective integration of networked systems; designing and maintaining disaster recovery solution to ensure data integrity and business continuity; designing and administering and securing campus collaboration systems; assisting in the design of and monitoring physical data center environment to ensure stability and integrity of networked systems; providing the highest level of support to user and desktop support activities; and identifying and resolving system vulnerabilities and threats.
Other duties include organizing and disseminating technical information in an understandable format; working with vendors to identify potential products; testing network systems and software; and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree and three to five years of related work experience are required, to include Active Directory, Windows Server OS 2012, 2016, 2019, Hypervisor technology, Office 365 Administration, Identity Management software, and experience with a scripting language. Experience with Multi-Factor Authentication software, Azure Cloud Storage, Central Authentication Service (CAS), Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM), Red Hat Linux experience, and PowerShell scripting are preferred.
