The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is seeking a Psychiatric Sr. Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner to join our team of professionals.
Duties Include:
Master's of Science in Nursing and four (4) years of experience as an ARNP.

Departmental Requirements
Current Active Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) Florida license, Basic Life Support (BLS) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification.
Consistently work the same schedule, with at least six (6) weeks notice, as approved by the Department Chair or designee, of deviation from that schedule.
Desired Qualifications
Deep knowledge of various psychotherapeutic methods.
Ability to explain complex medical concepts in an easy-to-understand manner.
Excellent observational and assessment skills.

Job Summary
The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is seeking a Psychiatric Sr. Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner to join our team of professionals.
Duties Include:
- Provides direct evaluation of adult patients at the FIU Health practice site, manages the psychopharmacologic needs of adult patients adhering to evidence-based treatment guidelines and is available to provide psychotherapy for adult patients as appropriate adhering to evidence-based treatment guidelines.
- Ensures all patients receive quality health care as per evidenced based medicine and standards of care, and that services will be medically necessary, appropriate, and compliant with third party payers. Participates in all third-party payer and managed care contracts as determined by FIU.
- Consults with primary care physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive care is provided.
- Maintains medication refills as indicated in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Maintains compliance with medical records/documentation and other applicable standards.
- Maintains an awareness of the fiscal implications of services rendered, as well as current billing (as applicable) and coding requirements ensuring the closure of patient encounters, including medical record documentation, by the end of each work session.
- Provides in service training to staff as needed or required.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the latest professional developments and research.
- Adheres to all Psychiatry and Behavioral Health (PBH), FIU Health, FIU and other applicable standards, policies, procedures, protocols, and audits.
- Responsible for providing telephonic on call coverage for FIU Health and clinical coverage of TMS services.
- Responsible for research, service, and related administrative activities.
- Conducts other clinical duties as determined by the practice site Medical Director and/or Chair.
- Performs other duties as assigned or directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related.
