East Stroudsburg University is hiring a Facilities Project Manager! Located in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, ESU's proximity to New York City and Philadelphia provides convenient access to internships, careers and social activities. As the Facilities Project Manager, you will need to think strategically and be comfortable managing and supervising all aspects of the planning, programming, coordination, design and construction of assigned facilities projects. You will be an active member of the Facilities Management team and will manage the University Facilities inventory, conduct facilities utilization studies and advise the University on space allocation issues. You will thrive in this role if you like combining your project management experience and knowledge of architecture and/or engineering while being innovative. To be successful in this role, you must be detailed-oriented and have good team and time management skills.

Work hours are typically Monday – Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. You may have to flex your schedule from time to time based on the needs of the business to be a true Project Manager. What Will I Do At ESU? (AKA Essential Duties)
  • Administer design contracts with assistance and guidance from the Manager of Facilities Procurement & Plant Assets and Asst. Director of Procurement on contracting regulations.
  • Coordinate with University officials to ensure adequate customer input, professional planning and design, and timeliness of effort. Participate in planning meetings, and research University requirements to be included in contracts.
  • Coordinate with University departments and functions affected by each project to arrange work schedule, limits of construction boundaries, location of contractors' offices, parking, work hours, and security to minimize inconvenience and complete the work in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the creation of professional agreements for construction management and project management services for assigned projects. Coordinate the efforts of University hired construction management and project management personnel.
  • Perform day-to-day quality assurance functions as required. Responsibly implement and enforce PASSHE guidelines, codes, plans, specifications, etc.
  • Ensure complete records are maintained of progress of work and all special conditions affecting work. Prepare and maintain records as required.
  • Manage construction change orders and contractor claims, including investigation of facts, preparation of correspondence, negotiation of changes, and other coordination as required.
  • Take every precaution to avoid University liability for breach of contract.
  • Ensure Professional design firms provide "life cycle" analysis for projects. Ensure Professionals and contractors provide "as-built" drawings that are converted to record drawings that are complete and accurate.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of capital budget submissions and an annual plan for projects to be completed by University staff or outside contractors.
  • Update, monitor and maintain the University Facilities Inventory on an annual basis and ensure that the inventory accurately reflects actual use of facilities.
  • Assist the Assistant Director of Facilities Management for Planning and Engineering with the management and maintenance of facility blueprints and sketches, technical information and project records.
  • Other related duties as required.
What We're Looking For (AKA Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering or construction management.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Deadline and detail-oriented.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Project Management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of building codes, AutoCAD experience and familiarity with cost estimating preferred.
  • People Skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in different states of completion.
