Salary Basis: 12 month

Responsibilities:
The Technical Services Director will work closely with the Chief Information Officer to ensure that technical services (networking, user services, telecommunication, CCTV and other technical systems) are operating efficiently and effectively. Day to day task and project management skills are required. The successful candidate will be able to organize and manage the work performed by the technical services department. Success in this role requires time management skills, understanding of a complex network and computer environment, the ability to handle multiple competing projects, project planning and the ability to convey delivery times to students, staff and faculty of the university.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage campus user services team.
  • Ensure that all work orders are completed in a timely manner.
  • Oversight of helpdesk cases and helpdesk software.
  • Design and implement short and long-term strategic plans to ensure that technology infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements.
  • Manage and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all technology infrastructure systems, including LANs, WANs, Internet, intranet, security, wireless implementations.
  • Direct and administrate the printing infrastructure at the college.
  • Schedule and direct activities to resolve hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Develop, implement, maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for technology infrastructure administration and project management.
  • Manage and report on the status of the team's work requests and IT Projects Requests and other related tasks and action items.
  • Provide quotes on equipment purchases and track ordering of equipment.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering technology, IT, MIS or Computer Engineering or equivalent education and experience.
  • 10 years of experience working on computers, networks or other complex IT technologies.
  • Ability to assess causes of technical problems and find solutions in computers and peripheral hardware using logical troubleshooting methods.
  • Strong understanding of complex network related problems and issues.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems to determine a solution.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.


Salary:
12 monthCommensurate with experience, qualifications, and university’s resources.
