Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will facilitate faculty engagement in undergraduate and graduate program planning, including collegiate curriculum planning, academic program planning and assessment and accreditation, oversee airport activities, teach aviation courses, assume administrative duties for the division, lead the effort to secure Aviation Accreditation Board International accreditation status, create an environment that oversees and supports scholarly activities, externally funded research and faculty professional development, oversee activities to enhance student enrollment and retention with an emphasis on student academic excellence and diversity, coordinate outreach activities including assisting in fundraising and developing pertinent external constituencies, supervise staff, and assume other duties as assigned by the dean.

The chair will provide leadership and direction in the planning, development, and delivery of the Commercial Aviation program. This position directs and coordinates the academic, operational, personnel, student, and selected budgetary activities of the division. The chair will communicate needs, opportunities, and risks regarding the Commercial Aviation Division with the dean and other senior administrators.

Qualifications:
Candidates must have at least a Master’s degree in Aviation or a related field from an accredited institution, and at least 5 years experience in an aviation related field and excellent communication and organizational skills.

Salary:
12 monthCommensurate with experience, qualifications, and university’s resources.
