Position Summary:
Charter Oak State College is looking for a University Assistant (UA) to assist with on-campus administrative tasks across campus. The UA would be assigned to the department of Finance. The UA would learn how to utilize the student information system on campus. Finance related assignments include learning a basic level of accounting for both student and College level finances.
Minimum Qualifications:
University Assistants should have basic organizational skills and pay attention to detail; ability to multi-task and work well in an office environment; showing the ability to take initiative is also encouraged; Good computer skills with the ability to learn various computer applications that are essential to the work.
Example of Job Duties:
Under the direction of the Finance Department, the University Assistant is accountable for performance in these essential areas:
- Prepare files/documents for electronic processing.
- Assist with processing incoming scanned and electronic and outgoing mail.
- Assist with linking scanned/electronic transcripts and other documents to electronic files.
- Assist faculty, staff and students with general questions and information.
- Assist with covering the office front desk.
- Assist with checking emails for documents needing processing and to assist with answering general questions.
- Prepare mail merge documents using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Print documents into electronic files.
- Update information in various locations (electronic, hard copy).
- Photo copying, filing; data entry, and other projects as needed.
$17.00 hourly.

Selection Procedure:
