School Crossing Guards
The City of Stow is accepting applications for School Crossing Guards (Part-Time).
PAY SCALE: Starting Hourly Wage: $13.68 (2nd & 3rd year increases possible)
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Employees must report to their assigned posts promptly at the start of their scheduled work day, properly attired in safety vest and equipped with STOP sign. Must be attentive to the safety of all students waiting at the sidewalk intersection and ensuring their successful crossing. May have to work in inclement weather conditions including: rain, snow, hail or sleet, direct sunlight or darkness; freezing or hot temperatures. Employees may be re-assigned to alternate school crossing locations as needed. Attendance and reliability are essential functions of a school crossing guard; therefore, employees must promptly report to and remain on their assigned posts throughout the duration of their schedule.
RESIDENCY: Applicants are not required to be a resident of the City of Stow to be eligible
for appointment.
EVALUATIONS AND TESTING: Applicants will be evaluated based upon their ability to meet qualifications specified in the position description as determined from information accumulated from any required employment application documents, interview(s), background and reference checks and any other job-related experience.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT TESTING: Applicants must satisfactorily pass fingerprinting and a pre-employment physical examination, including drug and alcoholic testing, performed by a City-approved physician, after being given a conditional offer of employment.
