Purchasing/Inventory Manager - Contract Textiles
Arc-Com Overview:
Arc-Com is a leading supplier of design-driven, high-performance textiles and wallcoverings for the commercial market.
Arc-Com is located in Rockland County, New York, which is about 15 miles north of Manhattan and in a wooded, safe, rural area.
We are looking for a Purchasing/Inventory Manager to oversee the ordering, warehousing, receiving and distribution processes of our organization's textiles and wallcoverings, which are warehoused in multiple locations. We sell over ~5,000 SKUs (stock-keeping units) and are constantly adding new product to our running line.
The Purchasing/Inventory Managers' main responsibilities include:
- Control the levels of inventory on each of our textile and wallcovering products to ensure adequate supply, without risk of excess or obsolescence. Requires communication with mill sources all over the world.
- Work with other senior management members to ensure price lists are current and reflect current costs.
- Keep our furniture manufacturers that are a part of our Alliance program up-to-date with new patterns and pricing.
- Consistent exposure and coordination with our national sales force to ensure product delivery meets client expectations.
- Work with logistics and expeditors to ensure timely access to transportation for inbound inventory as well as accounting for all inbound costs.
- Work with finishers and other entities on special application to our products.
This person would need to be trained in all areas of the Customer Service and Inventory Control areas of the business, in order to understand and help in these areas:
- Customer Service: This would include all OEP activities including how to check stock and make reserves. Also, Order Trace, Order Maintenance, Back Order Release, Sample Program etc.
- Order Desk Activity: Order Processing and Order Entry
- Mill Purchase Order Entry, Receiving.
- Warehouse Activities.
- Quality Control
The correct candidate should be able to help initiate and follow-up with certain order/projects that would encompass the following areas:
- Work with Sales Person and/client on special situation orders that may require special pricing, delivery, processes etc.
- Work with mill vendor to ascertain better pricing, better delivery, special handling etc.
- Follow-up and track special orders on both sides i.e.; sales and mill side, to assure timely delivery for client.
- Work directly with Process Mills re: current special processes and possible new fabric enhancements/solutions.
- Inventory maintenance through the weekly Re-Order Report.

Required Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of inventory management experience.
- Textile industry experience preferred, but at a minimum, must have experience with managing a large numbers of medium value items (SKUs).
